Caritas Microfinance Bank Limited is a deposit-taking microfinance bank owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi, operational since June 2015. It grew out of the Caritas self-help/savings program founded in 1983 under Cardinal Maurice Michael Otunga, and it emphasizes ethical, community-centered banking. Caritas has a smaller, more compact branch footprint than Faulu, concentrated mainly around Nairobi with a couple of branches further afield.
